About the Owner

Thirty Plus Events was established in February 2019. Thirty Plus Events began with a dream, fueled by its owner, Jovia King who saw events not as mere occasions but as immersive experiences waiting to be crafted. Armed with an innate flair for design and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Jovia embarked on the entrepreneurial path, laying the foundation for Thirty Plus Events. The vision was clear: to redefine event planning and decorating for a demographic that appreciates sophistication, style, and the art of timeless celebration.


Thirty Plus Events started by curating social events catered to individuals thirty years old and older. Hence the name, Thirty Plus Events. Curated events included things as wine and paint night, exercise classes, massages and spa events, theatre/play attendance, etc. Those thirty and older live a busy life and need a fun, safe outlet to meet and mingle. This has since evolved to decorating and planning for private events.

Wherever you're having your event come to you, whether it's at a venue, your home, Airbnb, hotel room, or church. 

I have years of experience in accounting and business, and my educational background includes an accounting degree and a Master's in Business Administration. My passion, however, has always been event planning and decorating. I am an Accreditated Event Decorator.

Above and beyond! Jovia and her Thirty Plus team made our Winter Wonderland Baptism dinner party come true. They are so responsive and professional. When I contacted them, she worked with my budget and ideas and brought some extra touches that brought everything together. It was so nice to focus on the baptism and have her take care of decorating, setup and breakdown. I gave her picture ideas and a few thank you vases and other minor things I wanted incorporated into the dinner. She made it all come together beautifully and my guests were wowed away.
